The production starts from creating thin ropes
by twisting two to three wires that are around 0.2mm.

All handcrafted by skilled craftspeople, Ginsen-zaiku produces elaborate jewelries to adorn your everyday outfit.

ーーHistory of Ginsen-zaiku

From the early Edo period (early 17th century), high-quality gold and silver were produced in mines such as Innai and Ani in Akita. Metal crafts were thriving in the akita castle town.

From the Meiji era to the Showa era, a public arts and crafts guidance center was established in Akita City, and the industrialization of metal crafts in line with the times was also planned.
Among them, “Akita silver filigree work” was created by adding new technology and sense of design to metal craft techniques that have been cultivated in Akita for many years.

“Akita silver filigree work”, which took root in Akita, where the production of gold and silver was large and where pure silver was used lavishly, has been recognized for its delicate beauty that makes use of the characteristics of pure silver and has become a representative craft of Akita city.
